Madeline and Ben travelled all the way to Scotland from the USA, along with some special friends and family, to celebrate within the tradition and wonder of a Scottish castle. They filled their day, and particularly their ceremony, with many Scottish traditions - including a hand-fastening ceremony and the drinking from a quaich. These traditions made for such a memorable day and being able to add the floral details alongside was very special.

Madeline requested a bouquet full of rich, vibrant colour and we more than happy to oblige! May is the perfect month to add colour, textural details and lots of depth to a bouquet. The bouquet really was a celebration of early May flowers - featuring tulips, late narcissus, camassia, bluebells, gems, fritillaries, clematis and of course ranunculus which the bride particularly requested!

We were also tasked with creating a tablescape for the large dining table at Duns Castle. Using a selection of GAIA vessels, including large footed bowls, runners, mini bowls and bud vases, we created a full flower runner effect down the centre of the table. Impact was created by contrasting a large central arrangement with bud vases delicately filled with small botanical details such as frothy forget-me-knots. The continued rich and vibrant colour palette complimented the surroundings so well as the room features a dark, opulent red rug and lots of dark wood furniture which the flowers ‘popped’ out against. The gleaming silverware also meant the colours of the flowers reflected and shone around the whole room, creating a special atmosphere for the wedding party.

This wedding really was an absolute dream to provide the flowers for. As a wedding florist it is always a privilege when a couple come all the way from America and pick you to style their wedding , even more so when they truly trust you and embrace the seasonal and locally grown flowers from where they have chosen to celebrate their day!
